Spectorgolf uses the American Developmental Model to provide age appropriate instruction.This model progresses instruction from games that teach fundamentals to on course experience and preparation for competition.Clinics offered to kids from 5-17.

Adult Clinics

Spectorgolf offers women’s only clinics and co-ed clinics for beginner and intermediate golfers. These clinics offer basic fundamental instruction at our practice facility and on course experience on Riverside’s South Course.

Private Lessons

Spectorgolf Instructors provide private, semi-private and small group lessons at our practice facility and on the South Course at Riverside. Whether you are just starting out or an experienced golfer, private lessons are the best way to improve your game.

Spectorgolf Instructors

Meet Abby

Abby Spector competed in over 750 rounds of competitive golf before the age of 22. She is in the Maine Golf Hall of Fame and the Maine Sports Hall of Fame not only as a result of her impressive amateur and collegiate success on the golf course but also due to her dedication to growing the game of golf.

Abby graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a full golf scholarship. She holds the following titles:

  • Pine Needles NCAA Division 1 Intercollegiate Champion 2002
  • 7- time Maine Women’s Amateur Golf Champion.
  • 2001 New England Women’s Amateur Champion.
  • 4-time Maine Schoolgirl Champion

Abby became a Professional Golf Association Member in 2013 and is currently the Director of Instruction at Riverside Golf Course. She has been voted one of Golf Digest’s Best Teachers in Maine from  2019-2024. Abby is also the former Director of Women’s Golf at Bates College in Maine.

Our Facilities

3-Hole Practice Course at Riverside Golf Course, Portland, ME

All instruction takes place on the 3-hole practice facility  adjacent to the Riverside South Golf Course. 

The facility includes three 100 yard holes, 4 practice bunkers and a 1200 square foot putting and chipping green. 

The exact physical address for the 3 -hole practice facility is 1000 Riverside Street in Portland, Maine.
